​Development of High School Tracks and Specialized Academies


This project offers a distinct and modern model for high school education in the Kingdom that efficiently prepares students for life and completes their high school education. The specialized academies train students for the labor market and align their preparation with the objectives and goals of the Kingdom 2030 Vision. 

This project includes several specialized qualitative tracks, builds a modern curriculum, and develops teaching and learning processes to qualify students to meet the evolving labor market needs.
The system supports groups willing to continue their university education. Specialized academies will motivate talented students by investing their creative and innovative capabilities and providing them with promising educational opportunities.

The new track system for high schools also includes special training for students with disabilities. The project responds to the challenges found in high school education in Saudi Arabia, so they do not affect the quality of basic education outcomes and their linkage with the labor market.

Target Groups:
The new track system project targets all high school students and teachers in all segments of public and Quranic memorization schools in all regions of the Kingdom.

Expected Outcomes:
  • Reducing educational waste by engaging students in specializations based on their preferences and abilities at an early stage of their education
  • Improving the quality of educational outcomes and equipping students for higher or vocational education
  • Preparing students for the labor market by offering more diversified tracks that meet the needs and interests of students
  • Motivating students by enabling them to continue their education in a preferred track in the early stages
  • Responding to the developments around the world by preparing students for university according to abilities, inclinations and the labor market demands 
  • Establishing the necessary grounds for empowering entrepreneurship prospects and bridging knowledge and skill gap in education 
  • Enhancing the value of volunteer work among students by adopting mandatory participation hours as one of the graduation requirements to contribute to achieving global sustainable development values
  • Requiring students to submit a graduation project to develop higher skills that help them to apply and practice what they have studied 
  • Promoting citizenship values in all courses and emphasizing if they are built on values such as citizenship and allegiance
  • Students acquire key technical skills to deal with life challenges, engage successfully in the future labor market, and contribute support to their families and communities 
  • Ensuring harmonization of educational outcomes with work market demands and its future challenges
  • Empowering women and increasing their enrollment rates in scientific and administrative specializations that are specific to the labor market and future jobs
  • Keeping up with the requirements of the future occupations and jobs 
  • Reducing unemployment rates by qualifying high school graduates better for new job opportunities
  • Filling the need of critical jobs and reducing the risk of occupational exposure in some professions
  • Raising awareness among students and parents about the capabilities required for future disciplines in universities, colleges, or professions.
