An introductory meeting between representatives of Saudi and American universities and government bodies in the Kingdom paves the way for the launch of the Saudi-US Higher Education Partnerships Forum.
Today in Riyadh, under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, academic leaders from over 80 Saudi and American universities convened an introductory meeting. The purpose of the event was to prepare for the main event of the Saudi-US Higher Education Partnerships Forum, which the Kingdom will host from November 17 to 21.
The introductory meeting began with a welcome speech by the Saudi Cultural Attaché in the United States, Dr. Tahani Al-Baiz. She emphasized the significance of convening the Higher Education Partnerships Forum, which brings Saudi and American universities together. She highlighted the role of the Saudi cultural attaché in enhancing educational and scientific relations between the two countries.
The US Deputy Chief of Mission to the Kingdom, Alison Dilworth, expressed her happiness at holding this forum and highlighted the American side's involvement in enhancing educational ties. She emphasized that such initiatives would foster a deeper connection and unity between the peoples of the two friendly nations, expressing hope for further collaboration in scientific and academic endeavors.
Participants discussed opportunities for academic and research collaboration and the exchange of expertise among universities to enhance strategic partnerships between educational institutions in the two countries.
Today, during the forum program, the American university delegation conducted a cultural tour in the Al-Bujairi District and Al-Turaif neighborhood in Diriyah to explore the cultural and heritage aspects that reflect the richness of the Kingdom's history and development.
The forum program features field visits by American university delegations to several Saudi universities in Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dhahran.
