Under the theme “A Countries Giving " the Ministry of Education celebrates Saudi and International Volunteer Day, which falls on December 5 of each year by involving the administrative and educational staff, students, their families, and the local community in the national events and activities planned by the Ministry and participating in them. This contributes to activating volunteerism in the educational sector and achieving the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 by reaching one million volunteers.
The Ministry of Education has established a special unit for volunteer work, implemented numerous programs and initiatives, and authorized platforms for volunteer work, allowing its staff, administrative and educational cadres, and students at all educational levels to take part in volunteer opportunities. Therefore, from the beginning of 2022 to the end of last October, 2,921,064 volunteer hours were contributed by over 158 thousand volunteers from the educational sector in 75,202 volunteer opportunities.
The Ministry announced the start of registration for the "Volunteer with Your Experience" initiative, which aims to enlist those with professional volunteer work to provide specialized solutions to the challenges facing non-profit organizations, entrepreneurs, productive families, and general and university education students. The ministry's campaign has been carried out by a variety of different means such as setting up a number of meetings, training workshops, and one-on-one consultations on December 7 and 8, 2022, in Riyadh.
