Innovative Design and Construction for an Engaging and Dynamic Educational Environment

The Ministry of Education has established an integrated system designed to create an active and attractive educational environment that aligns construction, buildings, and equipment. The ministry pursues these goals by broadening the scope of school-related initiatives and maximizing the utilization of school facilities. The ministry has diligently worked to enhance the educational process and implement quality standards in accordance with Vision 2030, aiming to foster an appealing and stimulating educational atmosphere. This effort includes executing the ministry’s plan to phase out low-quality rented buildings, address delayed and stalled projects, improve the quality of existing facilities, encourage investment in education, and promote the expansion of education throughout all regions of the kingdom—in cities, villages, and rural areas.

In response to these aspirations, the ministry is establishing projects, addressing obstacles, studying the needs of various education departments, monitoring stalled projects, and developing the necessary solutions and proposals to overcome implementation challenges. In addition, it investigates complaints related to project execution, prepares an annual plan for conducting field visits to all projects being implemented in various education departments to ensure compliance with contracts, terms, and specifications; assesses the quality of implementation; submits reports to the relevant authorities detailing results and recommendations; evaluates the performance of building affairs departments within the education departments; and formulates strategic plans to enhance the operations of the General Department of Projects.

The ministry conducts periodic reviews of the technical and regulatory procedures for projects, monitors the submission of monthly reports regarding the progress of ongoing projects, analyzes them, takes necessary actions, and ensures that all required tests are conducted to maintain quality control during implementation. Additionally, it supervises the restoration and rehabilitation of buildings, coordinates operation and maintenance services for educational and administrative facilities with education departments, inspects buildings and facilities that are experiencing defects, identifies their causes, and develops appropriate solutions for repair and treatment. The ministry evaluates and controls the quality of maintenance, restoration, rehabilitation, and additions; it enhances positive aspects while addressing negatives, and it ensures the quality of design and execution for both existing structures and those under construction.
