The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made remarkable progress in the field of education worldwide where the National Center for Performance Management (ADAA) monitored the accelerated steps in the Kingdom in a number of international indicators for the education sector during the year 2021.
The education in KSA is receiving significant support from the wise guidance under King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman,-may Allah protect them,-as the kingdom has advanced in a number of sub-indicators of global innovation.
The Kingdom has made high leaps in education and made radical changes in an effort to develop this sector. It has also provided all that supports scientific research and development at the highest levels, reaching the highest levels among the countries in the world, which enhances its leading role.
The Kingdom outperformed in three sub-indices of the 2021 Global Innovation Index, placing 26th out of 132 countries on the Research and Development Index.
The Kingdom achieved the 29th-highest enrollment index for the education sector out of 132 countries during the year of 2021; the index measures the overall enrollment ratio of higher education without regard to the age group of the population, which is officially compatible with higher education level.
In terms of university rankings, KSA excelled in the average ranking of universities by QS ranking and ranked 24th among the 132 economies featured in the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2021. This indicator measures the average score of the top three universities.
The Ministry of Education was able to overcome the exceptional circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, demonstrate its ability and competence in carrying out its mission without affecting the course of the educational process and the plans developed. It has continued to progress scientifically and achieve advanced ranks in many international indicators.
It is worth mentioning that the "ADAA" Center is working to monitor and follow up on these indicators, which contribute to enabling decision makers to develop the performance of public agencies and the ability to compete internationally. The Center is keen on cooperating continuously with all government agencies and providing them with the necessary support in analyzing the performance of the indicators, to ensure the continuity of the kingdom's progress in its international indicators.
The "ADAA" Center has established an electronic platform for international performance, enabling public agencies to follow the kingdom's performance and compare it with that of more than 217 countries. The platform gives a comprehensive view of more than 700 global measurement indicators through a 12-measurement axis, which is a reference for international classifications, as well as highlights comparisons of the performance of countries in all fields and their periodic monitoring.
