His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Mohammad Al-Sheikh, discussed today, Tuesday, with UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education, Ms. Stefania Giannini, areas of cooperation and exchange of experiences in education, and the Kingdom’s experience in e-learning and distance education, during His Excellency's attendance at the meeting of the Education Ministers of the G20 countries in Catania, Italy.
During the meeting, Stefania Giannini noted the great success achieved by the Kingdom in e-learning and distance education during the Corona pandemic, and the provision of education to all with high-quality standards, noting that the Saudis made a distinctive success story for the world with the rapid transformation of distance education, the volume of interaction in " Madrasati" platform, and the level of services presented in it, stressing that the Kingdom's leadership in distance education has enabled the Madrasati platform to be among the top four global models and that its experience will be documented by UNESCO.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Saudi Electronic University Dr. Lilak Al-Safadi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for International Cooperation Dr. Saleh Al-Qasumi, the General Supervisor of E-Learning and Distance Education Dr. Ohud Al-Faris, the General Supervisor of Media and Communication at the Ministry of Education Dr. Ahmed Al-Jumaiah, and the Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for International Cooperation Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Omari.
