Expressing his thanks and gratitude to teachers on World Teachers' Day,Minister of Education: Leadership directives focused on supporting teachers and advancing the teaching profession
His Excellency, Minister of Education Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to teachers on the occasion of World Teachers' Day. He highlighted their vital contribution to creating change and their dedicated efforts in educating future generations, developing their skills, and instilling positive values in them. This aligns with the aspirations of wise leadership to build an aware, educated, and globally competitive generation and to enhance the status of the teaching profession as a fundamental pillar in human development and national progress.
In his speech at the celebration today at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh to mark World Teachers' Day, His Excellency emphasized that the directives from the wise leadership have concentrated on supporting teachers and enhancing the teaching profession. He highlighted the Ministry's continuous efforts to professionalize education as a crucial element in achieving a global educational model that fosters the development of highly qualified teachers capable of delivering optimal professional and educational practices.
His Excellency clarified that the Ministry has offered more than 520,000 training opportunities for teachers, both male and female, in collaboration with the National Institute for Professional Development in Education. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of the teaching staff and align with the ambitious national development objectives.
He added that the ministry, in partnership with the National Institute, has begun implementing several international programs targeting teachers and educational leaders. These programs include the Singaporean Program for Building Educational Capabilities in accordance with global best practices, the Finnish Teacher Development Program for promoting modern teaching practices, and the British School Leadership Development Program for empowering educational leaders.
For his part, Mr. Abdullah Al-Oudah, Director of the National Institute for Educational Professional Development, clarified in his speech that celebrating World Teachers' Day is a tribute to the status of teachers and their role in shaping human beings and advancing the nation. He explained that teachers are at the heart of this ambitious vision and that the "Mulham" Forum represents a platform for highlighting outstanding educational practices, exchanging experiences, and drawing inspiration from experiences that contribute to the quality of education.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Ms. Mona Al-Ajmi, delivered a speech on behalf of teachers. She emphasized that they undertake a vital mission that serves as a foundation for human development and nation-building. Ms. Al-Ajmi explained that the teaching profession entails a significant responsibility, as teachers stand before students each day to cultivate a love of knowledge and foster a sense of belonging to their homeland.
The ceremony recognized the valuable contributions of both male and female teachers to the field of education. It also included a showcase of exemplary educational practices and the signing of several agreements designed to promote the professionalization of the teaching profession.
