
The Ministry of Education, represented by the General Education Agency, has organized the "Excellence in Teaching English for Young Learners" forum which was held virtually under the patronage of His Excellency the Vice Minister of Education Dr. Saad Al Fehaid during August, 22-23, with the participation of experts and specialists from the United States of America, Britain, Greece , and representatives from Saudi universities and bodies to share experiences in teaching English to young learners.
The Deputy of Ministry of Education for General Education, Dr. Mohammad Al-Meqbel, inaugurated the forum in the presence of a group of elite speakers, a number of supervisors, and some teachers who were targeted in this forum. In his opening speech, His Excellency emphasized the attention paid by the Ministry of Education for the teaching of the English language in view of its scientific and economic position in helping to achieve the pillars of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 towards a vibrant society, a prosperous economy, and an ambitious nation. In addition to the continuous follow-up of His Excellency the Minister of Education to achieve the goals of including English language teaching in the early stages of education
Dr. Al-Meqbel added, "The start of teaching English for the primary grades in the current academic year requires a lot of cooperative efforts and preparations from various sectors in the Ministry of Education. He pointed out, " The forum aims to support the ministry’s orientation in teaching English in the primary grades of the elementary stage this year, by raising the performance level of supervisors, teachers, and providing them with the best educational practices and modern scientific strategies for teaching English to young learners".
His Excellency indicated the integration of the educational system to enrich the educational field with specialized educational programs and meetings offered by the English Language Teaching Development Center at the Agency for General Education and the Curriculum Center. As well as benefiting from the local and international specialized expertise in the field of teaching English to young children.
Speakers from the University of Delaware, USA, and international publishing houses such as Oxford University Press, and MM publications participated in the forum, in addition to local speakers from the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Prince Sultan University, and King Saud University.
The forum has witnessed the honoring of the speakers, the scientific and coordinating committees from the Agency for General Education, and the CEO of Tatweer Educational Technologies (TITCO ) for their support of the forum, teachers, supervisors, who obtained the professional license with distinction, were also honored.
