His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh, met yesterday, Thursday, with the Japanese Minister of State for Science and Technology Policies, Mr. Inoue Shinji, within his participation in the G20 research ministers' meeting in Trieste, Italy.
The two sides discussed enhancing joint research between the universities in the two friendly countries, exchanging expertise and experiences in the fields of science and technology policies, in addition to boosting cooperation with distinguished research centers in Japan.
During the meeting, They discussed the Kingdom's participation in the Science and Technology Forum in Society (STS Forum) in October 2021, the increase of the number of Japanese students studying in Saudi Arabia, in addition to the Ministry of Education's endeavor to increase scholarships to distinguished Japanese universities.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy of the Ministry of Education for International Cooperation Dr. Saleh Al-Qassumi, the Deputy of the Ministry for Research and Innovation Dr. Nasser Al-Aqili, the Assistant Deputy Ministry for International Cooperation Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Omari, and the Deputy of Dar Al Uloom University for Planning and Development Dr. Ibtisam Al-Othman.
