On behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Education; His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation, Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Sudairi today, Wednesday, a series of specialized workshops on "Efficiency and Effectiveness in Saudi Universities", organized by the Ministry of Education as part of its initiative to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in universities in order to achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership for Saudi universities to play a growing role for the prosperity of the society in light of the objectives of Vision 2030, and in accordance with the requirements of the university system.
The Deputy Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation asserts, " This workshop targets their Excellencies the university presidents and their deputies for the purpose of introducing the concepts of efficiency in higher education and the motives for raising it, helping Saudi universities to achieve them, and institutionalizing their operations. He pointed out ," The Ministry of Education is working to invest the unlimited support of the wise leadership - may God protect it - to increase the efficiency of higher education institutions and universities, and implement many development projects and programs that support continuous improvement processes for its outputs.
The workshop discussed the need and motives for raising efficiency in universities, and the role of academic leaders in achieving efficiency. The international expert Dr. Jeffery Bohler spoke about academic leadership and university education issues, while the international expert on organizational leadership, policies, and development for institutions and resources in the academic sector, Dr. Kenneth Bartlett talked about the role of academic leaders in achieving competence.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Education’s initiative to raise efficiency in universities aims at introducing the concepts of efficiency in university education and its factors and motives for raising it, and helping universities understand the operational efficiency mechanisms, procedures and sustainability, as well as institutionalizing efficiency and effectiveness processes in universities.
