​​​The Education Ecosystem participates in the World Defense Show 2026 and launches the "DefensThon" competition to stimulate defense innovation

 


The Ministry of Education is participating in a dedicated pavilion at the third edition of the World Defense Show 2026, organized by the General Authority for Military Industries in Malham from February 8 to 12. The event features significant participation from various government entities, as well as major national and international companies.

The ministry's participation highlights its role in promoting a culture of research and innovation, connecting educational outcomes with scientific and industrial progress, and enhancing national capabilities in line with the objectives of comprehensive development.

Participating entities include various organizations, most notably the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, the National Center for E-Learning, the National Institute for Educational Professional Development, the Council of Universities' Affairs, the National Center for Curriculum, Colleges of Excellence, Tuwaiq Academy, and the National Academy for Industry. Additionally, several Saudi universities, academies, and training institutes are involved.

The Ministry of Education, in partnership with the General Authority for Defense Development, launched the "DefensThon" competition via the following link: https://defensethon.tuwaiq.edu.sa/

This competition is part of the Future Talents Program and aims to stimulate innovation in digital manufacturing, drones, programming, and robotics. It targets students in general education, universities, and technical and vocational training programs. Winners will be awarded cash prizes to support their projects.

The ministry's participation features several events, including a keynote speech by Dr. Saad Al-Harbi, Deputy Minister for Student Capability Development, and a presentation by Engineer Omar Moawadh, Deputy Minister for Institutional Transformation. The Ministry's pavilion also showcases scientific and innovative projects created by students, with ten platforms displaying the work of fifty male and female students.
