On behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Education, H.E. the Vice Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Sudairi, attends the distribution ceremony of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Award for Translation in its tenth session and handed over the awards to the winners.
The ceremony, which was held today, was hosted by Cairo University in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
His Excellency Al-Sudairi conveys the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his faithful Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and their aspirations for this award to achieve its noble goals.
His Excellency clarified that the purpose of this award is to strengthen human, cognitive, and cultural ties through interaction between the languages of the world, and to promote a culture of human dialogue in order to flourish coexistence with the different peoples of the world. He added that the award also aims to consolidate human values based on knowledge of the other with different languages, knowledge, and culture, respecting and benefiting from his achievement. His Excellency indicated that translation has proven to be a well-established pillar in the civilized construction of any human society.
His Excellency also urged Arab and Islamic universities, their research centers, chairs, and scientific fields, as well as their faculty members, to take care of translating sober studies and scientific research from all languages of the world. This is to add value to the content of sciences and cultures in the Arab world and to support the direction of investment in the knowledge economy.
His Excellency concluded by expressing his appreciation and gratitude to the wise leadership for taking care of translation and inspiring creators to deliver translated works that contributed to the Arab world's renaissance.
His Excellency also expresses his thanks to the Arab Republic of Egypt for hosting the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Award for Translation ceremony in its tenth session, which reaffirms the close ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the brotherly Arab Republic of Egypt in many educational and cultural aspects.
His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al Sudairi also extended his thanks and appreciation to the King Abdulaziz Public Library for its outstanding efforts in organizing and overseeing the King Abdullah Award's activities, which contributed to its development and achievement of its objectives. His Excellency congratulated the award's winners in its different categories and wished them further success and achievement.
