Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, and in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr.Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, the Ministry of Education celebrated "Founding Day" at its head office under the slogan "Our Story ". The celebration included several activities that exemplify pride in the Kingdom's history since its founding three centuries ago.
The Minister of Education emphasized that everyone celebrates Foundation Day with pride. He quoted King Salman bin Abdulaziz, may God protect him, "Our celebration of this anniversary is a celebration of the history of a state, the unity of a people, steadfastness in the face of all challenges, and aspiration for the future." He also evoked the well-established saying of His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz—may God protect him—in which he says, "We have a very important historical depth, which converges with many civilizations."
His Excellency noted that the anniversary of the Founding Day of this lofty entity more than three centuries ago is of great importance in linking the present of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with its past. It also highlights its historical depth and honors the men who sacrificed their precious souls to give this blessed country the security, safety, progress, and prosperity we enjoy today.
His Excellency added that the Kingdom is experiencing a comprehensive renaissance at all levels during the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his trustworthy Crown Prince—may God support them both. This remarkable renaissance includes an interest in education, especially the teaching of our national history, which enhances loyalty and belonging to our homeland, and its wise leadership. It also boosts pride in its solid roots for more than three centuries, beginning with Imam Muhammad bin Saud and ending with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him.
At the end of his speech, His Excellency the Minister of Education thanked His Highness, the Governor of the Riyadh Region, for attending and honoring this honorable occasion, hoping that God Almighty preserves wise leadership for our dear country, and directs it to all that is good and glorious.
The celebrations varied within the ministry’s office, where the main ceremony began with the royal anthem presented by the first Saudi musical student scout band from the general education students of the Education Department in the Jeddah Governorate. Ayham Al-Zayed, a student at a primary school, recited fragrant verses of the Holy Quran. The ceremony featured a visual arts exhibition that tells the story of the founding of the state, as well as the event of "The Saudi Founding Narrator," in addition to several traditional activities, including falconry, wickerwork, and rosary beads, in addition to weaving woolen cloaks.
Students from various education departments in the Kingdom presented a national lyrical opera. They reviewed the history and foundation stages, from the beginning of the Saudi state during the reign of Imam Muhammad bin Saud three centuries ago to the prosperous era under the banner of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God support him -, through seven artistic paintings. The first painting depicts the present era, the first Saudi state, the second Saudi state, and the third Saudi state, in addition to the painting of the sons of King Abdulaziz, the prosperous era, and the seventh painting, the Vision, and education.
The Ministry of Education implemented the Founding Day activities at the Ministry's head office, universities, institutes, and colleges of the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training. It also executed these activities in education departments in regions and governorates, and cultural attachés abroad to raise young people's awareness and knowledge of the Saudi state's history and the connecting its past with its present and future.
The Ministry is inspired by the determination of all the imams and kings of the state who contributed to the stages of founding the state, up to the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his trustworthy Crown Prince—may God protect them—and the wide developments our beloved homeland is experiencing in various fields.
