His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Youssef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, and the education staff celebrated Flag Day today, Saturday, March 11. A royal decree made it a special day for the flag every year, and it was on this day that King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud approved the flag we see today.
Minister Al-Benyan raised the Saudi flag, with a scout troupe of male and female general education, on the flagpole in front of the Ministry of Education building, accompanied by the Saudi national anthem. This was part of the Ministry’s celebration of this national occasion, which expresses the flag's value, symbolism, and connotations extending throughout the Saudi state's history to enhance the values of citizenship and belonging to the sons and daughters of the country.
The Ministry of Education celebrates Flag Day in all its sectors and education departments in the regions and governorates. The Ministry has launched the "Salute the Flag" initiative to raise the flag in the morning assembly to the sound of the royal anthem playing in all public and private schools, starting tomorrow, Sunday, for a period of five days. Many other activities will be executed to celebrate this national occasion to enhance the value of the national flag among male and female students. It also emphasizes the importance of the young generation respecting the Kingdom's flag, which symbolizes the values of loyalty, belonging, allegiance, pride, and unity.
