The Ministry of Education works to identify and secure the schools’ needs for equipment and laboratories, all educational and teaching aids, and learning resources required by the educational process. In addition, it follows up on these needs by securing and distributing them to schools. This contributes to creating a safe and healthy school environment that is attractive to students, develops a tendency for self-learning, and stimulates education by using the latest technologies, laboratory equipment, and teaching aids.

Furthermore, school equipment and educational technologies such as school furniture, laboratories, technologies, learning resources, and school libraries are invested in to provide learners with the opportunity to choose the most appropriate place and time, as well as to assist teachers and students in activating education by providing scientific content in ways that are based on modern information and communication technology.

Securing and determining the schools’ needs for books, equipment, laboratories, all educational and informational technologies, and learning resources required by the educational process and delivering them at the specified times for distribution to schools before the beginning of the school year.​


Detailed Objectives:
  • Develop complete plans to study, identify, and secure the education departments' needs for school and office furniture, laboratory equipment, learning resource laboratories, computer laboratories, special education requirements, and teaching aids. In addition, the School Equipment Department provides all the educational and information technologies required by the educational process for the various target groups of cultural books and other learning sources, computer equipment, and laboratories based on standards approved by the concerned and works to develop them and train employees on them in coordination with the relevant authorities.
  • Developing the necessary controls to ensure the safety of secured school materials and equipment, as well as their conformity to what is required and intended to be secured.
  • Preparing standards of laboratory maintenance in schools at education departments in the regions and governorates and following up on the destruction of expired chemicals by safe methods in coordination with the relevant authorities inside and outside the ministry and in accordance with the instructions regulating that.
  • Participation in preparing standards to determine the need for school equipment supervisors and learning resource guardians, evaluating their performance, and suggesting appropriate educational and training programs to develop their performance.
  • Introducing and raising awareness of websites, software, and educational materials, publishing them in the field, and taking motivating measures to benefit from them.
  • Coordination with relevant autho​rities in the ministry to provide security and safety procedures in school laboratories, as well as their requirements and training to benefit from and properly deal with them.
  • Overseeing the evaluation of school equipment and educational technologies, assessing their reality, analyzing their problems, and proposing developmental solutions.
  • Participating with the relevant authorities in organizing and circulating the educational information containers.
  • Providing the requirements of educational technology centers in the education departments in the regions and governorates, in coordination with the General Department for National Transformation (Information Technology).
  • Determining the needs of textbooks in coordination with the education departments.
  • Overseeing textbook printing after technical copies from the Curriculum Development Center have been approved.
  • Supervising textbook supply to warehouses and distribution to schools based on the previously identified need.
  • Suggesting the executive plans for learning resources in schools and education departments.
